Title: Traditionally called King of the Franks (Roi des Francs)
    Reign: c. 419/520 - 427/428 (traditional dates)
End of reign: 427/428 (traditional date), died
Name/byname: Also called in English transcription: Faramund

One of the many Frankish princes, Pharamond was probably the sun of Sunno or Marcomir and was traditionally named by some chroniclers the first king of Franks. He probably became chief of a Frankish tribe in 419 or 420, though some later authors wrote it was in 417. The chronicle of Saint Prosper of Aquitaine says it could not have occurred before the sun eclipse of July 19, 418.
