Edmond Dupauw ----------------------------------- Obituary - Fort Covington Sun, Thursday, April 10, 1941 Fort Woman's Father Expires Past Week At Chateaugay Home Last rites were held for Anthony Tavernia, 90, of Chateaugay, father of Mrs. Peter Amord of Fort Covington, from St. Patrick's Church in Chateaugay at 9:30 Saturday morning. Mr. Tavernia died Wednesday night, Arpil 2nd, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Wood, of Chateaugay, after a four weeks' illness. The deceased was born in Canada but had resided in Chateaugay since he was 13 years old. He followed the occupation of farming until his retirement 25 years ago. His wifer, the former Mary Dame, passed away 17 years ago. Four daughters and two sons survive: Mrs. Mary Wood, Chateaugay; John Tavernia, Burke; William Tavernia, Malone; Mrs. Peter Amord, Fort Covington; Mrs. Gertrude Bill, Springfield, Mass.; Mrs. Alice DeLoria, Chicopee, Mass.; two brothers, Theodore Tavernia, Ludlow, Mass., and John Tavernia, who resides in Montana; a sister, Mrs. Zoa Bouchard, Central Falls, R.I.; 49 grandchildren, and 55 great grandchildren.
